Raw honey as face wash

Read the review on how honey was good as a face wash on curly nikki   and decided to give it a try yesterday.

i stopped using the salicylic acid products a couple of months ago, for i didn't see any improvement in my face. have sensitive skin which is prone to breakouts.  instead started using black soap. it's quite drying and even though i moisturise after washing, didn't quite like the way my face felt.

until i read the review on honey, didn't know it could be used as a face wash. I'd used it for my hair, as a facial mask, but never as a wash.  well i used it yesterday night and this morning. and face felt calmed.

hope to use it for at least a month and hope there'll be an improvement on my face.

will share the results!

ooh, i had to stop using Shea butter, it was a bit too heavy for me. Stopped using petroleum jelly also, it darkened me.

fingers crossed, honey will be just right.

Deep conditioning with Shea butter... any one?

its been quite busy over at my end and haven't been able to post as much as i would have loved to. anyhow, will try to post more often than I'm currently doing.  promise.

this past weekend, went to the salon, because i needed a trim. don't have enough confidence to do a trim on my hair or anyone's for that matter. might end up with bald spots all over. :-) :-)

before the trim, i co-washed. the lady was wondering what was up with me. (ehm, not a natural hair salon. Where i stay, natural hair is a novelty. all the salons relax, braid with extensions or sew in weaves. that is the norm. so i usually get serious stares and the question always is, when will you be fixing your hair? quite happily always reply saying, this is my hair.)

Back to what i was saying, before a wonder off rambling. did a co-wash using Pantene slick and shine conditioner. then a mix of Shea butter, egg white, and honey was applied to the hair. a plastic cap and was put under the hooded dryer for 30mins.
the steamer in the salon was broken.  (note to self, consider getting a steamer for home use.)
had the trim and my hair looks a lot better than it did before. no more scraggly limp bits ruining the coils.

oh oh, almost forgot to mention, leave in conditioner and moisturizer were put on the hair, and Castor oil was applied to the scalp. then hair was put in two strand twists. the lady tried using a fine tooth comb to comb my hair, thinking it was relaxed hair she was working with. told her, no, thank you, and got her to use a wide tooth one.
should remember to go with a comb from home next time.

oh well, was glad with the results of deep conditioning with the Shea butter-egg-honey mix.
hair's looking a lot fuller than before.

my TWA is growing!! yay!!!

Petroleum Jelly on face?

Have had breakouts since i started using organic oils for my natural hair. well, can't be too certain which of  the oils is responsible. read the reviews on petroleum jelly for face and used it this evening after washing. can't wait till morning to see if i'll have smooth, glowing skin like the reviews said.

wondering, has anyone tried using it on the face at night, and what results did you get?

will be great to know.

olive oil pre-poo hair treatment

Used olive oil as a pre-poo treatment on my hair  this past weekend and i was quite impressed by the results.
It was on my hair overnight, covered it with a plastic cap, and a silk scarf. In the morning i washed with black soap and conditioned with Organics Olive oil conditioner.
results were impressive. My hair was silky.
will definitely try it again.

i'm still at the the stage of trying out products. well, more like conditioners. i stopped using store bought shampoos in December. have used dudu osun black soap since then. it cleans my hair very well. don't plan on using another product othe than black soap as shampoo.
i'll test another conditioner this weekend and see the effect it would have on my hair.
will definitely keep you posted.
